    • 300 gt and over must have a pilot

  • Los Angeles
    • 300 gt and over must have a pilot
    • No exemption available
  • Monterey
    • Greater than 750 gt must have a pilot
    • No exemption available
  • San Francisco
    • Greater than 750 gt must have a pilot
    • No exemption available
  • Columbia River Bar
    • 250 gt and over OR length overall of 100 feet or longer must have a pilot
    • No exemption available
  • Columbia River
    • 250 gt and over OR length overall of 100 feet or longer must have a pilot
    • No exemption available
  • Puget Sound
    • All foreign flagged yachts of any size must have a pilot
    • Exemption available if not more than 750 gt  AND not more than 200 feet LOA
  • British Columbia
    • Pleasure registry of 500 gt and under are automatically exempt
    • Commercial registry of 350 gt and under are automatically exempt
    • All others either have a pilot or waiver in place
  • SE Alaska
    • 65 feet length overall and larger required to carry a pilot
    • Exemption is available for those less than 175 feet length overall
